Why hindi requires math
2026-02-06 · Hindi captchas
The Hindi engine reads a sum. The flag is rejected unless math is set as well.
hindi: true means the operands are Hindi number words. Those captchas are arithmetic. The API therefore requires math: true in the same object. Sending hindi alone is a 422, which you should not retry unchanged.
A pure digit code never wants hindi. A word written in Latin letters never wants hindi. The flag is only for Devanagari number words inside a sum.
The response engine will be hindi_math. If you see ocr or math, the flags were not both set, or the call took the other path. Check the JSON you sent before you blame the picture.
SDKs pass the same two booleans. The Hindi page has Python and JavaScript samples.
