Send the task id within 48 hours. The daily cap is 10% of that day's charged solves, plus 5.
If the portal rejects a text you sent and reliable was true, POST /v1/report with the id returns the credit when the cap allows. The task must belong to your key and be younger than 48 hours.
The cap is 10% of that UTC day's charged solves, plus 5, so a small account can still report. A report the cap refuses can be sent again the next day.
Do not report free results. There is no charge to undo. Do not report a captcha that failed because the session expired. The reading may have been right.
reportIncorrect on the task API is the same refund for older clients. reportCorrect records that you accepted the answer. It does not spend an extra credit.
