Repeating digits and stuck keys

5552 is a valid code. Do not collapse repeats because they look like a glitch.
Portals draw repeated digits on purpose. A client that uniques the string will fail those captchas and the failure will look like the model was wrong.
Trust text when reliable is true, character for character, including repeats and leading zeros.
If your UI shows the value in a number input, the browser may also drop the leading zero. Use a text input when you display it for a person to check.
A report is appropriate when the portal rejects the exact string you sent and the image clearly says something else. It is not appropriate when your code rewrote the string.
