createTask, getTaskResult, getBalance, reportIncorrect, and reportCorrect exist for clients that already speak that shape.
Some older integrations post clientKey and an ImageToTextTask instead of a bearer token and /v1/solve. Those routes are on the same host: /createTask, /getTaskResult, /getBalance, /reportIncorrect, and /reportCorrect.
createTask returns a task id quickly and solves in the background, like /v1/submit. getTaskResult is how you pick up the text.
Errors use errorId and errorCode, including ERROR_KEY_DOES_NOT_EXIST and ERROR_ZERO_BALANCE. A low-confidence read is ERROR_CAPTCHA_UNSOLVABLE and is not charged.
New code should prefer /v1. The task routes stay so an existing client can change the host and the key and keep its calls. The task API page has the fields.
